As an actor of the classical stage, Megan Cole holds the distinction of playing a series of roles which are perhaps so well-known that the titles of the plays almost needn’t be listed…from Shakespeare’s Queens Margaret, Cleopatra, Gertrude, Regan and Elizabeth, as well as his wits Katherine, Beatrice, Mistresses Page and Ford...to Chekhov’s Ranyevskaya, Varya, Yelena and Arkadina...to Williams’ Amanda Wingfield, Synge’s Pegeen Mike and Widow Quinn, Coward’s Myra and Judith Bliss. Then there's Brecht's Mother Courage, Friel’s Kate Mundy, Miller’s Elizabeth Proctor, Strindbergh's Alice, Wilder’s Stage Manager, Hellman’s Regina Giddons, Albee's "A" and Dylan Thomas’ Voice One. As to the Greek canon on stage, she has played both Elektra and Medea. Perhaps most famously, Megan created the role of Vivian Bearing in the original stage productions of WIT, for which she was awarded the L.A. Drama Critics’ Circle Award and the DramaLogue Award. Megan recently completed a run at Seattle Rep appearing as "A" in Edward Albee's THREE TALL WOMEN. |
